  1. Nov-Dec 2002- Raeford NC to Z-Hills for the Turkey Meet, then to Eloy for the 300-way, back to Z-Hills for a skills camp with the SOCOM Parachute Team and finally back to Raeford. A flat tire, a few nights in Wal-Mart parking lots and a bunch of...laughs! All in an immaculate RV driven by my good friend, Paul Rafferty. Chris
  2. Keep it simple. Rotate forward and drive through the grip (not around your piece partner). Both people in the compressed should focus on stopping their piece on heading, building the center stair-step diamond on the finish. The first move should be a bit more of a push through your grip keeping the piece as small as possible. Letting your arms get fully, or even partially extended can make the piece very difficult to control. Person starting on the outside of the compressed push through your grip and see a long compressed, or a stair-step diamond half way through the turn with your clone. (the person who started on the outside of the other compressed piece). Compressed pieces are the easiest to get going so it shouldn't take much effort. On the finish both people should be working to stop the piece and looking toward the center to see the opposite compressed piece, once again looking for the long compressed or the stair-step diamond in the center. Avoid focusing on the individual fliers. A good sight picture on the finish with the other piece will help avoid getting "grippy" or over rotating. Hope this helps Chris
  3. The two year anniversary of LSTs death is coming up this summer. I think about that dumbass everyday. I miss laughing with him, at him and because of him. I dont have any cool pictures of Sammy that I can show. Hell I dont even have any stories I can tell. Not openly. I can say that I miss you bro'! Along with being one of the most loyal friends I will ever have, ole Sammy could cook! Damn that guy could cook! Is that Sammy Thistle in the house?! My ni%$a, get your ass over here! I miss you Sam.
  4. Think I didnt?! Thanks Chuck Chris
  5. 4 way open is going on right now. (its mid morning on the 18th) Womens 4 way this afternoon and 8 way starts tomorrow.(hopefully) Most teams only did one or two practice jumps before the weather got bad. Finally cleared up Friday and the wind died down this AM enough to get started. later Chris
  6. Back at work after one of the longest weeks ever. Its hard to know what to say but I feel like I should tell Raff something. Go easy fiesta boy! You helped me achieve so much. Thank you. Thanks for getting me in the Ft Bragg tunnel when I had 100 jumps. Thanks for a non-stop adventure to the 300-way and back. Thanks for Empuribrava. Finally thanks for all the jumps and the friendship in-between. Later Bro
  7. Look on skyleague.com, we gave a bunch to Kurt Gabel at one point. He was sending them out for the cost of shipping. Is there something in particular your looking for? Chris
  8. try delandmajik.com sebastianxl.org or norgies.com, the norgies and xl just got done with the world meet and may be trying to get rid of some gear.
  9. Where I jump we call A Unipod Couldn't resist, Good Luck! I was testing you, you passed with flying colors! think I am a bit nervous here? Thanks for keeping me straight! Chris
  10. its very common for both the FAI and IPC websites to be inaccurate. i am not saying its ok, just the way it is. they usually update them following the board meetings since thats when the pool or rules may change. the current record is 43 set by the french team. the sequence is B F L A N. Step, Open, Adder, Murph. flake, Crank.
  11. The draw is in about an hour, then the opening cerimonies. Look for scores on skyleague. Kurt should if nothing else post a link to the correct page on the Mondial website. 4 and 8 way should run together, with 2 jumps of each everyday starting tomorrow, (sunday). Should be a tough meet! Chris

    Hootie Hoo

Are you sure you have your weekends straight? Its one thing to cockblock to get some, but to stick around when someone wants some messy time without you is kind messed up! If one person tells you that you stink no worries, if two people say it, take a shower! Look out for count cock-block-ula at Raeford!
  15. We turn 22 to the right, but the technique for the up and over move is the same. Build some altitude into the random at the top of the block, also give yourself a bit of a tug on the grips to get going forward over the point of the cat piece. How much you can tug will depend on the person you have grips on, however I find I can pull pretty hard since I am pulling him in the direction he is going anyway. Move forward over the point of the cat piece and look for a 3-way compressed picture between you, the tail of the cat and the other solo flyer. Keep in mind I get this by moving forward and not turning until I see it. Once you see this picture, turn keeping the cat piece in view over your "old" shoulder. This will help you maintain proximity. once you head switch find the point of the cat piece (which by now is probably at the 270 degree point) and put your grip in his hand. In my opinion this block requires a bit more work than most. There is a lot of movement and a lot too see during the turn. How far forward to move at first, how much turn to cut off, and the tendancies of the cat piece will all be better understood with a few jumps under your belt. Hope this helps some! Good luck!
