I agree with the whole Fantasia deal WTF? I must be hiding under a rock because I have never heard of her and frankly never want to again after that performance! I was happy when her gig was over. I really liked the Aggie dredlock boy Jason a lot. My favorite performance was still him singing Halleluliah. I also agree that this competition brought him a long way. I thought Syesha was the queen who reigned that show. This next week will be interesting! I heard about something on the show that the top 10 are going on tour? Is that true? What do they sing and where do they tour? (This is my first year watching Idol) Very impressive show, too bad I missed the first few seasons. Also, to answer somone's question about Randy Jackson, he used to be in the band Journey. You may have heard of them, a very top notch band in the 70s and 80s. Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." There are a ton of places to camp all up and down the Pacific Coast. Up North you have the entire Ventana Wilderness and can hike up to 100 foot waterfalls (Berry Creek Falls) which is one of my favorite hikes. It is a long one though. There are some awesome State Parks right on the beach or right across from it. When I lived in SoCAl I used to camp a lot south of the border but Twin Lakes, Big Bear and Mono Lake are also nice. Well I would have to say that I agreed with Thanatos on this one again. I thought Syesha was fantastic and last night, she was my favorite hands down. I would have put her and David Cook in the final round. I did think that David Archuletta did a great job with the Billy Joel song and I do like Longer by Dan Fogelberg, but I did think that Longer was quite a strange choice for him. He does have a good voice but I would not have been able to tell Syesha to go home. David Cook was good but I thought a lot of his voice was off key. Granted he does have talent and he is a Missouri boy so I kind of have to give it up for him but I thought Syesha even gave him a run for his money last night. Gary, that was such a beautiful video and Marnie was such a beautiful person. You all have been in my thoughts. I feel so sorry for your loss. Marnie's smile was contagious and her eyes so full of life. With the small amount of time I have spent at FFE, when I saw her picture and heard her name, I knew who she was because she was one of the unforgettables who stood out. Again, you have been in my thoughts and I am so sorry that you lost your love. I hope Tori is doing okay. The video brought tears to my eyes. Skydive Monterey Bay. Not owned by Jess Rodriguez any longer, and Jess is a super good guy, but the views are of the Monterey Bay, Pebble Beach and one of the most beautiful places in the US (IMHO). Only about an hour or two south of SF As far as views go, SMB beats "H town" , Byron and the rest hands down. See pic. Thanks to all! Right now I can't even conceptualize more school (after staying up till 4 am writing that dang thesis)... But I think I want to go study fish now and marine sciences in Hawaii or near San Diego. Going for a Masters or PhD. In the meantime though I kind of have my foot in the door at a local crime lab. Not sure if I want to do technician or lab work. All I know right now is that I am going to have a party this weekend with my friends after graduation and not think too hard about anything else for at least a month! Once again, a great post causing me to LMAO. Well, Syesha got my vote last night with that Tina Turner Song (isn't it Tina or Ike or something ?) Anyhow, she was rolling. I was kind of disappointed with Jason because he used to be my favorite. He just seems like a super mellow 4:20 kind of dude who would be cool to hang out with. I can see why the young girls are Goo Goo over him and plus he is a Texas boy and that is always a plus in my book! David Cook sucked in my opinion last night. His second song was a wanna be comeback but he just didn't do it for me and there is something about him that seems fake and arrogant to me that I can't quite put my finger on. Plus, I thought "Hungry Like the Wolf" was a terrible music choice for him. Even though he does have a good rock star voice, he doesn't come close to Duran Duran in that song. David Archuletta really impressed me with Stand By Me... Before he started singing it I was like OMG here we go with the corny boring song but I thought he actually did a very bangout job with it. I didn't watch all of Love Me Tender but he has most of that audience melted and wrapped around his finger I think. The kid does have talent. After the judges reactions and the performances, I don't think that the whole 16 year old female population will be able to save Jason another week. It will be sad to see him go because he is so unique and just looks like a pretty cool dude. I do agree with Thanatos though about buying the bulk condoms, hanging a sign out, etc. That was hilarious. I would have liked to see Jason Castro get down and even dance a little bit to an old 70's John Travolta or BeeGees song and break out a little bit from that dumb stoned look strumming a guitar. You know, come to think of it, maybe the Air Trash guys were talking about those paragliders and not hang gliders. I guess that would make more sense considering Perris is pretty flat . The other problem I am having is that I lost my original picture that was my avatar on DZ.com which was taken by my daughter when she was 4 at the time. And dang it, I really liked that picture. When I was jumping with "Air Trash" in Perris, they told me to look for hang gliders and if they are out, chances are good that dust devils are lurking because the hang gliders use the thermals or updrafts or something to climb. Yep, the last time I was at Perris which was just about a month ago, the entire landing area was just one big dust devil on and off all afternoon. It kinda sucked. I dragged my crap all the way out to Cali to make one jump . Oh well ... I grounded myself, took myself to the Bomb Shelter and ordered myself some tasty margaritas and watched the other crazy people jump even though there were dust devils that looked like that over half the landing area.
