I am using Vortex 2 for a short time, 10 jumps, before it I used Javelin and parachute de france accuracy container and never had a problem. Now, in 10 jumps 3 line twists - cause - unstowed left brake. My last pack job was done very carefully triple checking the brakes by me and our jump master plus third skydiver. Brakes were stowed correctly. On opening left brake unstowed again causing line twist and cutaway: https://youtu.be/VD4rMlLPyJc I think there is a problem with risers. Brakes are unstowing easily, there is no velcro on these risers, just needle to keep the brake in place but not from going down - unstowing.

Thnx for the tip. I will be careful with flare. Regarding ageing, canopy newer saw sun, it is still factory packed - was in fact, till sunday so I hope it will perform well.

In my experience it should be fine. I jump accuracy, I added kangaroo to my parafoil 282, it slows down openings considerably. Slider should not be a problem.

I was searching for fast canopy (90 kilograms here) for a man of my size. I found Springo 160, brand new (never used, 10 years in wardrobe), bought it for 450 euros and its really - brand new as seller said. Until now I was jumping with Ultimate 170 from Paraavis and Parafoil 282 (accuracy) and Troll 285 - BASE. My rigger said I needto be careful with Springo as it is way faster. I will make my first jump with it in 10 days and I am kinda nervous (I have legs fear as my both legs were badly broken). Can someone tell me what is the difference between 2 canopies and are my fears realistic.

I hope not :D

Transition from track to arched position
nicsoew replied to nicsoew's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I have that little wobble only when going from track to arched. Everything else is fine but its going on my nerves. I jumped this weekend but no tracking...just 2-way and accuracy. Docking goes fine every time. I never wobble except tracko to arched and its not much and it lasts maybe 3 secs but it frustrates me. Maybe I should pull in track but I want to be able to transit gently....I feel like noob after wobbling 😁 -

Deployment body position

Just bought PF TS...I will make my first jump with it soon. I tracked without it but I always went to arched position before opening causing me to have forward-backward wobble for a short time after transitioning. -
Transition from track to arched position

I dont have much tracks and when Im in transition from track to arced position I begun to wobble in arched position for a short time. How can I do transition without it? -
My rigger said....don't do it. Get yourself another system with main and reserve. I guess I will do that. I wanted to buy WS and do some mods on my motorcycle...not gonna happen now.
-
Im gonna buy another system with main and reserve. Too much this and that regarding my original question. I dislike jumping high altitudes with parafoil.
-
I would jump out at 1000 ft deploying reserve.
-
My first cutaway resulted in not so nice landing with reserve.

Thank you very much. You saved me lots of money. I appreciate that. If we ever meet on some DZ you have beers as much as you can drink on me :)
