  1. Rolling the nose has never harmed anyone. Just take cells 1-3 and 5-7 and roll them towards the middle and push them next to the middle cell towards the back or tuck them into the middle cell. Slows down openings very nicely without being a lot of effort. Otherwise yeah just flake it nicely and set the slider all the way to the slider stoppers. Blue skies
  2. Well this is Australia, where you can jump what you can get
  3. Thanks, you guys helpeda lot! He never said about buying that canopy, just demoing, which i still think is a really really stupid idea. He let luckily go of that idea in the meantime thx to you :-)
  4. Mod note - post deleted; jumper wisely chose to not go too small too soon. Thanks to everyone who posted - this time it worked.
  5. Hey, i've seen Videos of tests where they put a cutaway-system on a paraglider and deployed a normal reserve using something similar to skyhook, can't find the video at the moment though.
  6. Ah ok, thx for that information. Are there any issues with the tailwing, i mean those wings can't be collapsed like wingsuit-wings.
  7. Wow, what a setup. I think this might at some place find it's place in base jumping, don't know anything about the financial side of this though, but probably rather not for skydiving. Those wings are simply to big to be jumped from most planes.
  8. Hi, if you would go for the gopro for any reason, just to mention it, this is probably the safest way to go: http://www.chutingstar.com/skydive/square-one-gopro-top-mount Blue Skies and stay safe
  9. This is not entirely true. I know some guys that did some jumps of paragliders in the Swiss Alps. I am currently trying to organise some more jumps, the freefalldelays aren't great but pull altitude is safe enough, considering you start of mountains 2000-3000m high with the valley being at 400-500m. Can't give more exact details, just trying to get everything working in a safe way. But don't risk anything, be on the safe side. You have to consider that those jumps are dead air jumps, you need time to recover before pulling. Blue Skies
  10. Hey, np. Actually all DZs here are quite busy, especially tandem packing is really a big thing here. Just try all the DZs along the east coast, that is where most tourists go, and if you get a job there you can be sure that you'll never have any spare time left :-) also surroundings of melbourne is very nice area to work, that's where i am working. Here u can see the Australian parachute federation homepage: http://www.apf.asn.au/ You can find jobs there under Members/Industry Vacations or there is also a DZ locator where you can find all the DZs and contact information. Just send them your resume and you'll see, it's all gonna work out.
  11. Hey, i'm not sure if you'd like that idea but try Australia. I came here on my working holiday visa and was an inexperienced packer when i arriced here. But very quickly found a very nice job where i did my packer b license. Rather easy finding a packer job here, many many dzs for the tourists ;-) hope that helped blue skies
  12. I once met TJ Landgren and had the honor to go up with him twice as well. But only noticed who he was a couple of days afterwards. If that rubber band didn't break so far, he is still jumping with one of mine ;-)
  13. Congratulations! Keep it up and get your A license soon! Blue skies forever and stay safe!
  14. Sry, my explanation might be misleading, thx for the correction. Sure, they never replace a visual altimeter, they just add more safety. But in in freefly it's just harder to always have your altimeter in sight.
  15. The main reason is, like said, that electronical devices are never safe not to fail. In some freefly situations, you have to rely on your audible altimeter, and 2 give you just more safety. That's why you are also jumping with 2 canopies and not just one ;-)
  16. Sry, i'm used to deleting the question when answered will stop that :-)
  17. I've send him an email, no response so far, he alsways needs some time ;-) you can find the next sport when you go on rig designer. There it says next sport whereas unter products it says next century. That and an answer from paragear ch congused me a little bit ;-)
  18. Hi community, i will soon order my first own rig, but now i am a little bit confused: is there any difference between the paratec next century and the paratec next sport? If there is, what's the difference? Or is the next sport just a coname for the next century? Thx for helping me solving this quest :-) Blues skies
  19. Well, that's true. But there is a reason why everybody jumps it ;-)
  20. Ok, thx. Yeah, it's a new rig. How do you know? Im really going to buy a next, speed, safire and cypres :-)
  21. Hi, i'm just about to order my first rig. The parts are sure, i talked about that with my local rigger/my instructors. My question is now:: if you order a rig, you order your rig itself, the main and reserve canopy and the aad. But are there other parts that aren't included such as softlinks, pod... that you have to order seperately? thx a lot blue skies stay safe :-)
  22. I can just recommend Australia to you, the skydiving industry here is very big and there should be enough jobs available as a good camera man.
