  1. Good luck with this. I came back to the sport a few years back after a 15 year lay off. My first jump was from 5 k and about 10 seconds just to get the feel. Now doing all I was back in the 90's. Lots of things have changed and the sports got many more disciplines but is still the same at heart. Just wish id never left in the first place...but that's marriage for you, took a divorce for me to see sense.
  2. Yep I agree 1 year repack cycles should be brought in. I had an old two pin Teardrop with a swift reserve, packed and stored in my loft for 15 years. I decided to have a look at it and check the main out. I also pulled the reserve and the pilot chute fired off like new, and the free bag came out perfect and the reserve canopy was still crispy..pretty sure it would have worked AND NO I AM NOT SUGGESTING 15 YEAR CYCLES !!!
  3. Altitude awareness or rather the lack of it is something than can get anyone. I have always considered myself to be a very altitude aware skydiver. I have had a few chops and always (bar one) got off with good height. Then earlier this year some bad twists had me kicking all the way till I cleared them at 1500 feet (I pulled at 3,200 ish). I will be honest I didn't once check my alti, the canopy was stable not diving though it felt she could go at any moment. I did look at my reserve handles and was happy I could get them in an instant, but 1500 feet and no RSL was a wake up call for me, that height was lost so damn fast. Next time I am checking alti all the time and off it by 2k. Chopping low kills folks.
  4. Some people should stay on the ground. !
  5. Yep, Hop N Pops are fun and often at my DZ get worked onto the lift before re fuel. 15k jumpers keep the plane up longer and stop you getting more 3k Hop N Pops. So moan back at them !!
  6. Try the British Parachute Association web site. http://www.bpa.org.uk/where-can-i-jump/ you will get a full dz list on the site. Enjoy the skies over England.
  7. Hello. Looking for a link to a download that will explain fully to airport security that a Cypres AAD is legal to carry on as hand luggage and also what they will see during an Xray scan of my rig
  8. It was Treason to take us into a Union without asking the people. The simple truth is we are an Island, I am English / British and never will consider my self European and I am proud to say my children are being raised the same. Let me again say, I love Europe and visit it many times and will continue to do so, i just hate a Union.
  9. I'm reasonably certain neither the CCI nor the pilot would be too impressed with having somebody dangling by the feet out the door for half a mile. Its no worse than having several people float. Just need to make the pilot aware too.
  10. Yes, but we are British we will just tell em to Fu** off.
  11. Ive had no problem as yet, i admitt the feet tying was back in the 90's and probably would not be accepted now. The exit is very safe, as ive said just watch the BOC and handles as you slide them out the door. Let me know how you get on. The 206 is perfect for this.
  12. "Me i just hope that regardless of what the vote is we don't end up with a attempt by the rest of Europe to Bully us. As happened when the vote went against them in a few countries, who voted NO. Then somehow they had to return to do it all over again" Yes that just shows how corrupt and disgusting the whole un elected union is. Only a fool would support an un elected body to rule so many nations as one.
  13. No, i actually think this will fall to a YES / No vote. As for Wales and Scotland, i hope so as that will also give us English Indepenence. Its a funny time and we can all now get on as seperate countries without killing each other. Lets just all get on and be different.
  14. Why are they living in Europe..and not working. Also why will it screw Brits working in Europe, Brits worked in Europe before the Union, and traded and lived.
  15. Exactly well said Abedy. Cameron has put us in a great position. We get what we want or we will get out. I just hope we get nothing then we can get out ASAP. The Union is a massive failure, being run by un elected fools who are screwing expenses and are bent as Hell. I am loving the response from the Eurpoean leaders, its great to see he has hit a nerve and I look forward to the European boat be rocked and with luck tipped over, then you can get back to being individual countries with own identities and cultures. Abdey, a European union beating of one drum and saluting one flag...mmmmm where have we seen that before..TWICE !!! and failed. (Thanks mainly to the English speaking countries of this world)
