  1. I don't have time for all these statistics, I know sometimes it make sense but it depends what jump and what canopy. I'll tell you just one example. Last year fatality in Poland. He had 1800 jumps, instructor. After cutting away with RSL his reserve was entangled in camera. You can see something similar here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRYa_pXJ_p4 comments to these video are also interesting, one of them: jj85883: "I've been in the sport 22 years and have about 20 cutaways in 6000 jumps, and some cutaways way down in the basement, and I dont know the man's qualification, but i never deploy a reserve unstable like he did. Seen a couple of jumpers get killed doing that." I forgot to tell you I have also AAD in my algorithm for the case if I would try to get stable too long, audible altimeter and I know... you're right, sometimes is not easy when everybody go too low, but I read somewhere now more experienced jumpers like to deploy higher
  2. I know it's not the same but you can train how to do it quicker. You can just twist yourself in many different ways then come back to stable position. It's always helpful and beneficial even if you have 2 seconds better time
  3. Not everybody understad if we write with 2 meanings. There are plenty jumpers they just jump without any understanding and education. Few weeks ago I met one experienced wingsuit pilot and base jumper, one of those that fly few meters above the ground and I had to tell him why RSL is sometimes dangerous. First time he heard about it. Few days ago I was laughing because ffriend of mine didn't know that is easier to have malfunction with eliptical canopies. Beside that don't forget about students because they also read this forum and if you say something with your experience for them is holy. I don't like RSL because I like my universal algorithm. If you have malfunction with hard spining it always works 1. Higher deployment. 2. Time to get stable 3. Reserve in stable position but RSL doesnt ask you how hard is your line twist or what is your body position Another problem in my opinion is bad association in the air. If everybody go lower we go lower as well, there is no time to stabilise and that's why RSL is sometimes better. and also not always people are trained how to get stable quickly after cutting away. It would be good to spend some time in tunel and learn it instead of worthless things
  4. No. I think its not good when somebody will think they died because they didnt have RSL. The reason is they died because they didn't get a parachute over their heads in time.
  5. Sorry mate I dont remember exactly what happend in Palatka and I'm not writing about it
  6. I just want to say that higher deployment and audible altimeter doesnt kill so often like RSL
  7. Are you talking about one incident in particular? You can have a normal deployment altitude and a low cutaway on the same jump. Sparky I know but it sounds like they died because they didn't have RSL and some people will think that was the reason. We know that RSL sometimes help but sometimes kills.
  8. I think one of the most important things for student is stable deployment and you can learn it in tunel. There are toooooo many incidents and accidents because of that. This one is interesting, sorry you can use google translator http://www.transport.gov.pl/files/0/30651/20131651U.pdf
  9. Why you are writing: "Low cutaway, no RSL" instead of "low deployment" that was before?
  10. Is it enough to record from the ground? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlWd7lNRy7M
  11. Can you show me these pictures please with updated Revolve?Quote
  12. I mean its little bit unpleasant for my ears only when I want to remove that helmet from my head with the face shield down. When I just wear the helmet everything is 100% ok
  13. I like small helmets and I bought this one as small as possible. With the face shield down it's just little bit unpleasant for ears. I need to use 2 hands but is ok. Of course I have camera mounted on the other side of helmet
  14. http://www.cda.pl/video/241748c/Rosyjski-spadochron
  15. I know it's not very pleasent but I prefer even to lose my nos or ears but survive than die with pretty face. In my opinion is always better to have it. If I will have any problem just one quick move and I'm free. Here is my cutaway.
  16. If you can put it on your head you can also take it off. I think its very goo d idea. I've done the same with mine
  17. "Far more people have died trying to achieve a "flat stable body position" than have died due to RSL. " Yes sometimes it takes really long http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vACwFU9yogk
  18. This picture is from Metro in UK, dropzone in France, last year
  19. Yes thats true you are right. With wingsuit it can take even longer come back to stable position but that position 2 seconds after cutingaway with head up is not too bad to deploy reserve. I dont jump with winguit at all, I deploy my main higher to heve enough time, I dont use RSL and now I wanna sell my elliptical canopy and I'll buy Sabre 2. I was writring about dropzone where wingsuits are banned not RSL. I can send you some picrure from neewspaper about it
  20. I think all these things together it was very bad combination. As we know with elliptical canopies is easier to have line twist. With wingsuits there are also more cutingaways. I know in some dropzones they are completely banned no matter how skilled you are. Statistics say it's better to have RSL but I don't like it. I'm sure if that guy would deploy his reserve from flat and stable body position everything would be ok. I know about someone with 25000 jumps with no cuting away but he doesn't jump wit wingsuit and ellipical canopies. When you have line twist your body have some energy. I'm sure you know very well mass X speed = momentum What will happen with that energy after cutingaway? It must be spent in some way. If you'll not lose it before you pull reserve it will go in to your canopy and you can have another line twist or something else. I dont think RSL kills like Cypres because Cypres kills when it's your fault but RSL doesnt ask you how hard is your line twist or what is your body position so you can't have that control.
  21. Just to let you know the last accident in Poland guy had 1800 jumps instructor he jumped with wingsuit 2 cameras rsl and elliptical canopy. Cutingaway was ok but later he had problem with his reserve and camera. He died
  22. I have Bonehead Revolve full face with camera not on the top of helmet but on the side. Beside that camera has sharp edges and is outside not in the box so its easier to catch some lines. Thats how they sell it. What do you think about full face helmets is that make any sense to mount cutaway system? I think it would be difficult to get rid of full face helmet anywayQuote
