Nor do I. The people complaining today should have been around in the mid-70's when there was a shortage. Today is nothing compared to then.

Indeed!
And the people wringing their hands over the current inflation rate (8.6%) should have seen the rates from 1974 to 1981. Hint:

I think you are thinking about this the wrong way; Time he spends watching TV, is time he isn't posting on here. To me that is a big plus!

"$5 a gallon gas, 3+ million illegals crossing our southern border, no baby formula, inflation higher than it’s been in both of our lifetimes, and this is what you want to talk about?"...... Brent for the umpteenth time? Nope. That was Boebert to AOC when asked if she was one of the congress critters who asked Trump for a pardon for tweeting Pelosi's location on January 6. Now I can't speak for anyone else but I'd be quite sullen to find out that I was on the same page of talking points as Lauren Boebert. Imagine if my black friend found out.

And even fully depreciated, it's still more expensive than NEW wind or solar. In other words, even if you have a coal power plant fully paid for, and are paying for nothing other than the coal and the manpower to run it, you're still going to be paying $42 per megawatt-hour. New solar is $28-$41/MWhr and new wind is $26-$50/MWhr - even taking into account all the construction costs.
Indeed.
It has been several years since Xcel here in CO put out an invitation for bids to increase their available power, and renewables came in cheaper than anything else.
