There are two main ways in which you can message a user. Hover over their username in the forums, a modal popup box will appear with their profile information along with a "message" option. You can navigate to the users profile, and on their profile page you will also be able to send them a private message.

Attaching a file to your post is easy. Simply use the "browse" button located at the bottom left of your post draft editor when creating a new post.

If you haven't visited the forums in a while and you have a lot of unread notifications and wish to reset them, you can use the "Mark Forum as Read" to clear any unread notifications you may have.

We allow users the ability to follow both topics and threads. When a topic or thread is followed, you will be presented with several options on how you'd like to follow the content. You can choose to either receive notifications on threads and topics. Whether you'd prefer to receive individually each time content is posted, or a summary of activity for a specific period. You also have the ability to not receive updates on new posts in areas that you follow.

In several sections of our dropzone listings you will notice a large interactive map displayed at the top of the page. This map allows you to easily find dropzones and listings that you are looking for. You can either choose to navigate with your mouse to a specific location and then click on a marker to access the dropzone that marker represents. Or you can use the search box at the bottom of the map to search for a dropzone or region. For example, you can search for "United States" in order to focus the map on listings in the United States. Each marker is pinned to the GPS location of a dropzone and should (as close as possible) represent the dropzone listed. Our markers accuracy relies on the link owners to ensure that the details are accurate.

You can leave reviews in several sections of the site; including dropzones, gear and events. In order to leave a review, all you need to do is make sure you are logged in and scroll to the bottom of a display page (such as that of a dropzone listing or an event).

If you have sold your item, or you wish to remove the listing - you can do so by completing the following steps: Click on the down arrow next to your profile picture on the main navigation bar. Click on "My Adverts" in the dropdown Select the ad you wish to delete. On that listing page, about half way down there will be a button titled "Advert Actions", click it to expand a dropdown. Click on the "Delete" option.

You are able to renew your ad should it expire, by simply clicking on the down arrow next to your profile picture on the top right of the main navigation bar and then selecting the "My Renewals" option. From there you will be able to make any renewals to your ads.

In order to make adjustments, you will first need to ensure you are the owner of the listing. You can claim a listing by clicking on the 'Claim Listing' button on the listing you are wanting to claim. Once the owner of the listing, half way down the page (where the claim listing button was), you will now see an edit option which will allow you to make any necessary changes to your listing.

If you are an employee of a dropzone or tunnel, we allow you to gain ownership of the listing so that you can make any updates to information, and ensure that the listing is kept up to date. In order to claim your listing, you can access the support ticket either directly through out support link, or go to your dropzone or wind tunnel listing you're wanting to claim and click on the "Claim Listing" button about half way down on the listing page. Once you have the support ticket open, select "Claim Dropzone / Claim Tunnel" from the department dropdown and fill in the required information.

The Dropzone.com Skydiving Classifieds is a FREE service to the global skydiving community. It has grown to become one of the most popular places to buy and sell skydiving gear. We plan to keep it that way and will continue to add new features but we ask that you help us by following a few simple rules and guidelines to keep this place tidy. 1) Your ad must be skydiving related The Dropzone.com Classifieds are for skydiving related ads. Any ads that does not relate to the sport or industry of skydiving will be removed. 2) List your ad to a single category only Please pick the most appropriate category and list your ad in that. Any multiple posts will be removed - all of them, not only the duplicate. Ads that are in the wrong category may be moved or removed. No SPAM will be allowed. 3) No UPPER CASE SUBJECT LINES Do not post subject lines or ads in upper case letters. Upper case letters are rude and considered shouting. 4) No ==>"Eye Catchers"<== Do not use "eye catchers" in your subject lines to try and draw attention to your ad. Examples are adding characters like ==> <== or ** ** around the subject. Please type a clear descriptive subject only. These characters make a classifieds board look tacky and is not in line with the Dropzone.com brand of providing clear un-cluttered content. Help us keep it tidy. Ads that use this practice will be removed. 5) URL or Links only You may include a single URL link in your ad, but it must pertain directly to your item. Abuse of URL linking will see your ad removed. 6) Ebay links If you choose to sell your gear on Ebay then please do not place and ad on Dropzone.com with a link out to EBay only. See the guidelines above. Ads like this may be removed. 7) Duplicate ads If you decide to post something that has already been posted again then you have delete your original post first. If a duplicate ad for the same item is found both will be removed. 8) Companies advertising While skydiving gear sellers are at this stage welcome to list items in the classifieds we ask that you not abuse this privilege. Companies which post listings may only do so with second hand / used items and should not list large quantities of their inventory at a single time. 9) PayPal Fee Compensation It is against the PayPal terms of service to request that the buyer compensate for PayPal fees included in the transaction. We recommend that the seller include any PayPal compensation he requires into the price of the actual product. That's it for now... We reserve the right to refuse service and remove any ad without providing a reason. Repeat offenders and spammers will have their usernames disabled. When you submit an ad, in the form for submission during step 5 of the procedure you will be able to select whether you want to submit the ad as a free ad or choose a payment package. In order to have your ad featured, you will need to select a payment package. During the completion of your submission you will be redirected to PayPal where you can finalize your payment. After payment has been made, your ad will be submitted as a featured ad and receive priority over free adverts.

While we allow all registered users to submit classified ads free of charge, we also offer a premium service to members who wish to promote their ads. A featured ad is a paid service that will promote the ad for more visibility, and in turn increase the likelihood of a quick sale. They are placed with a higher display priority and will be featured on both the homepage of the classifieds, as well as being placed higher than free ads in the respective category that they are placed in.

Should you wish to change your password for any reason, you may do so within your account settings. Click on the down arrow next to your profile picture on the top right of the main navigation bar. Click on 'Account Settings' On the left, there will be a 'Password' option, from there you can complete the changing of your password.
