Waiver

Recommended Posts

The waiver that Birdman originally wrote and has since been copied by others, is a demo /liability waiver for BMIs who are taking people on their first flights and or are allowing others to demo suits. It entails the usual liability release legalese as well as an agreement that if you damage the suit, you are responsible for the repair costs. The waiver is designed for Birdman Inc and for the BMIs. It is encumbent on the BMI to have people fill these out for their own protection. If you are not a BMI you don't have to worry about the waiver. BMIs typically receive this document when they go through the instructor course.

Its something you wil almost never see in europe.
We do make the same agreements. You break it, you buy it. And you fly, so you're responsible.
But problems with liability (and lawsuits that follow) is something you dont really see here.

I have a question. Is there a wavier a new birdman pilot needs to sign before they jump? If so, where does a new pilot get it? Thanks

The waiver can be downloaded off of the BirdMan site. Where we use them, generally, is at boogies where we are doing FFC's and organizing. Anywhere where we feel accountability might be an issue.
