Croc 0 #1 December 1, 2009 I am about to buy a CF Storm but I realize I have some questions about the pilot chute I will need and my deployment bag. (My rigger is in Florida, or I'd ask him). What size pilot chute should I get for a CF 150? If I pack using the tailpocket do I need a deployment bag? The storm I demoed used a deployment bag that helped collapse the pilot chute. If I don't use a deployment bag, what collapses the pilot chute? One last question: how come I've been working for 42 years and I'm still broke? Thanks, Dave"Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. (I use ZP because it lasts longer, and I'm a cheap bastard) If I pack using the tailpocket do I need a deployment bag? Quote Nope, when using the tail pocket just use the locking stow and s fold the lines do up ALL the velcro and you're good to go. Only one rubber band, told ya I'm a cheap bastard If I don't use a deployment bag, what collapses the pilot chute? Croc 0 #4 December 2, 2009 Thanks for your input. BTW, my wife thinks I'm broke because I keep throwing money out of airplane doors, but I tell her, if they didn't want us to throw it out, why did they open the door? faulknerwn 37 #6 December 4, 2009 Its a round cloth ring with a large grommit in the center. It slides down the bridle and serves the purpose of collapsing the pilot chute after opening.
Croc 0 #7 December 4, 2009 Thanks. Can I buy one or does a rigger have to make it?"Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy
faulknerwn 37 #8 December 4, 2009 They're common in the CRW world but I don't know of any business who really sells them. Someone might see this thread and reply to you about getting one..
