AggieDave 6 #1 July 24, 2003 A post in a different thread (Packing tool thread) brought a question up for me. Reported in that thread, a modern PC pulls with a force of about 80lbs. Does anyone have numbers for a reserve PC, a PC that is collapsed still or any other configuration?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." andy2 0 #2 July 24, 2003 hmm, thats interesting, but how often do you pull your reserve at terminal? I thought sub terminal reserve openings were more common? (still interested in the terminal numbers if anyone has them). --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm... darkwing 4 #4 July 24, 2003 My educated guess is that the figures cited above are pretty much ideal, and that in actual use the figures are usually a little to a lot lower. The factors I am considering are lower speed and some screening by the jumper. -- Jeff My Skydiving History
Vertifly 0 #5 July 24, 2003 That is interesting. I always thought that it would be a hell of a lot heavier than that. Makes you wonder about pulling it back down if you have a pilor chute in tow. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
