So is anyone jumping the HC9 regularly?

Recommended Posts

I jump with one fairly regularly. I'm mostly a belly jumper, so IS isn't an issue for me with either OIS or EIS. I have done some sit with it, but given the smoothness of my sit, can't tell you which is the cam and which is me.:|

Not to be a 'tard' but what are you all talking about when you mention EIS or OIS? I am a REALLY NOVICE camera guy and I have been playing around with my X-mas present a rebel XTi.

I just want to make sure I am following the conversation properly.

I jump the HC9. No issues so far. I put it in an original cookie HC3 box and it fits great. I do not use IO. At the beginning of the day you need to check your auto/ manual focus. Still learning all the ins and outs of the thing. Even shooting in SD the colors seem brighter and more detailed. Even going head down on tandem exits seem to be fine. It's been great so far.

Virtually all of the camcorders are on 12 hour clocks, which means you're resetting any custom parameters (focus) every 12 hours. So...if you jump in the never-ending-sun regions, you might be doing this twice a day!;)

BTW, there is a great training DVD available for the camera....:D
