A russian guy at the ranch was talking about a new panasonic, - i know , i know,sony only forum, that was card only. holds about 15 minutes of time depending on gig size and is tiny. He said the quality was excellent. you may want to check it out on the panasonic home page. i think he said the cost was around 400. off to z-hills.

What type of wide angle can you put on that thing? Anything bigger than .3 doesn't get enough of the student IMHO.
