I've printed 20x30 from 8MP, and I think it looks fine.

That said, I agree with the last poster - get an XTi. And then trade me for my XT. :)
Of course if you just want to point and shoot, an Elp or Powershot could work. It depends what you want to spend.

Not really an option, can't afford to spend more than $300 or so. And am looking for one that's easily carried around, ie small.

I bought this for my girlfriend for $180 from walmart and it produces some very nice photos, also has a great review at cnet.com.
i want one for myself, takes a good photo next to my 20d ($1000)
