Miami 0 #2 December 12, 2005 Wow, had actually never seen a sony camera without a lanc port. You can always use an indicator light like this...basically just gives you a red light when the light from your video camera is on. Simple yet effective if you don't have lanc. Hope this helps...Miami
nacmacfeegle 0 #3 December 12, 2005 The LANC on a PC7 is via a wee adaptor about half the size of a book of matches (part no VMC LM7), it fits the power adaptor connection, it won't last long in freefall though. It also doubles as an external mic adaptor, and was used to hack the PC7 back in the old days by those of us who were early adopters of Sony's neutered (no DV-in) cams. Buy a spare battery and plenty of tapes, deffo cheaper than a newer canera.. Buy the wee gismo linked above, it works fine as a power on indicator, but won't act as a remote.-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Another way to see the light is to buy a 1/2 inch round mirror with a stick on back at a drug store and put it on your hand mounted altimeter. This is probably the easiest and least expensive way to do it. Ed
nacmacfeegle 0 #5 December 12, 2005 Agreed, unless your cam is housed in some form of protection.-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. flypunk 0 #6 December 12, 2005 get good at using the standard push button record it sucks to say that, but one of my set ups has the lanc broken and its easier to do that than get a new camera. ...
AndyMan 7 #7 December 12, 2005 Is your profile up to date? Since you're looking for a cam-eye, I presume you're looking to start jumping your camera. Jumping a camera at 70 jumps is not appropriate. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
