The way to get digital stills to your customers.

Recommended Posts

Stand alone and lickety-split fast and easy enough that even I can use it. Put your CF card in and a blank CD-R and BEEP your customer has a disc with all their photos on it. We are using a similar device and are now doing more digital than film stills.

Yeah, I saw that a while ago in my catalog too. I would think it would be ideal for big or busy boogies like WFFC and Eloy where you have beau coup pictures and little time. It also avoids the dreaded Hard drive crash and all your stuff disappearing dilemma.

Well, we haven't been using it long enough to say. Yes, it takes only a couple minutes for 30 to 50 pictures. Our's is sitting in an open cabinet in the hangar. Only time will tell if it's hardy enough for skydiving, but so far, so good.

Look at Ulead DVD Movie Factory Disc Creator. Burns DVDs and a bunch of other stuff like creating data discs and slide shows. You can make a DVD into a BIG data disc.

Can you select the pics you want on a disc from your memory stick? (Say, if I have 100 pictures on there, but only 25 are for this tandem).

No. It dumps the whole card. Being standalone, there's no way to select some and not others. You just put the media in and it copies everything. I have a couple of 256 cards just for digital prints, I download the print to the customer's CD, and then I copy them to my CD if there was anything I really liked.

Yes, you can add photos in this machine until the capacity of your CD is reached. Once you add files using a computer, though, the format changes and you can't add using the standlone anymore.

Cash price for DVD and digital stills is $110. We are now requiring anybody in rotation to fly a digital SLR in addition to a film camera.

-And I just work there, there's a mouse my pocket when I'm saying "we" like I own the place. :P
