Jethers203 0 #1 November 5, 2003 I was just wondering what the nono's are for flying camera. Specifically, what type of jumps are high risk to the camera's ability to work properly. Are cloud jumps bad for the camera? Does the moisture effect it? Also, could the rushing sound of the air at speeds up to 250mph and on be bad for the microphone? I am just trying to gather all the info I can before I start jumping my own camera. I have jumped friends cameras in the past, but it is my toy that I have to worry about now and I want to know everything. Thanks for the information. Jethers203 0 #3 November 5, 2003 Quade, I already read that and have it saved on my computer. It is great information. My post is more asking about camera care and the type of jumps you can do that could be harmful to the camera. Let me know. Clint D-24352
Spizzzarko 0 #4 November 6, 2003 Watch out for the head down landings. Low time jumpers, and students tend to see lenses, and ring sights as something they need to touch. That's all I have to say about that.
docjohn 0 #5 November 20, 2003 I'm amazed how durable the Sony PC series is. I jumped the same Sony PC-1 for 5 years, sometimes in the rain, heat, high humidy, cold. You name it. It never malfunctioned. I finally managed to drop it and break it this year and moved up to a PC105. Long live Sony! riggerrob 561 #6 November 22, 2003 Even a crude neoprene "camera condom" will double the life of your camera by protecting it from wind, rain and dust. Adding a composite D-box will triple the life of your camera by absorbing accidental knocks and bangs.
