freeflir29 0 #2 July 26, 2003 Quotehow the swoopers dry theyr rig? They jump it again...... Quotehow long does it take? Usually just a few seconds delay outside the airplane..... Seriously.....if they aren't jumping it again that day it's best to hang the canopy out of the sun in a cool well ventilated area for AT LEAST 24 hours. Chuck Thats what we did after a friend of mine just madeit to the edge with a demo from PD at Rantoul. "just the main got wet. Everybody hold a coner in the wind and shake it. I'll jump it again-they won't notice." The Velo 97 was popular and they knew what happened before he got to the ground on the 2nd jump. SkymonkeyONE 3 #5 July 27, 2003 I am sure you mean Velo 96, but we won't hold that against your story...Chuck
bobsled92 0 #6 July 28, 2003 type-o 96 (My demo was a Sabre2 190 that day) I still have to come down for a canopy course from you. Aug.3 at 1:00am I will know if I'm getting all new gear & a 170 CC or holding off more$$(Vz.strike) I wanted to get more jumps before the transition any way. -Grant_______________________________ If I could be a Super Hero, I chose to be: "GRANT-A-CLAUS". and work 365 days a Year. http://www.hangout.no/speednews/
skymama 35 #7 July 28, 2003 QuoteThe "jump it again right away" thing is what I do. No faster way to dry it. Mine got wet today (not from swooping, from it landing in a puddle). I jumped it right away, daizy-chained it to pack it at home, and when I got here, the lines were still wet. I'm letting it dry out, I was just surprised they were still wet. Think the humidity was just too high for them to dry? Or, could it be because I daizy-chained it?She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
Hooknswoop 19 #8 July 28, 2003 Lines can soak up a lot of water. Humidity doesn't help it them dry either. Let it hang in a cool, dry area and it should be dry in a day or two at the most. Derek
skymama 35 #9 July 28, 2003 Hmmm...I just have it laying out on a bedroom floor. How would I hang it in an apartment bedroom (read: limited space)? She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
Hooknswoop 19 #10 July 28, 2003 That should be fine. It might take a little longer to dry, but still still be dry in less than 3 days, easily. Derek

ianmdrennan 2 #12 July 28, 2003 I had to pop my reserve, let it dry and have it repacked . Yep, if you're not a rigger, swooping ponds can be expensive. Blue skies IanPerformance Designs Factory Team
