piper17 1 #1 December 21, 2007 Got on a roll scanning old slides. Who is PIC, who is on the engine, which DC3, and where?"A man can never have too much red wine, too many books, or too much ammunition"...Rudyard Kipling
3331 116 #2 December 21, 2007 The place is Z-Hills. The DC 3 is Sky Train, owned by Don (Fog) Fournier and Si Frazier (both dead). The Pilot looking out the window is Dave Sickler, another long time good friend who's dead. I worked on that DC 3 in 1979.I Jumped with the guys who invented Skydiving. SkydiveJack 1 #3 December 21, 2007 Looks like Mark Borghurst on the engine. Dave & Mark flew me safely on hundreds and hundreds of loads. Great guys!!!
jonstark 8 #4 December 21, 2007 Good eye Jack. He looked like a kid in this pic. He sure ate, slept and breathed DC-3s for a long time. Wonder where he is now. jon

fastphil 0 #7 June 26, 2008 Dave wintered at Spaceland one year, and when he was leaving we tried to load his wife's car into the plane so she could fly with him. We must have looked like ants with this compact car on our shoulders, and we got it half way in but it would not quite make the turn to head up the aisle. Like they say; those were the days... piper17 1 #8 June 26, 2008 Dave Sickler died of a heart attack and I believe Fog did as well (but not as certain of this). Si Fraser, I believe, was killed in the crash of a Lockheed Lodestar in Arkansas that was flying at night in bad weather and low altitude during the aerial delivery of agricultural produce. This information came from accident records of Lockheed Lodestars located on the web so I cannot vouch of its accuracy."A man can never have too much red wine, too many books, or too much ammunition"...Rudyard Kipling
