Southern France

Recommended Posts

Hi Jasmin,

I've jumped Gap, Cahors, and Mimizan in Southern France:

Gap: very busy dz, beautiful mountains and home of many champions (http://www.parachutisme-gap.com/).

Cahors: fast pilatus A34, swimming pool, great red wines (www.parachutisme.com). I will jump there in aug/sept.

Mimizan: view on atlantic coast, very nice pro staff, nice camping place under pinetrees (www.ojbpara.com)

By the way, as you're in Australia...I will be in Melbourne in september, where can I skydive? (skydive nagambie? I would like to bring my s-fly wingsuit with me and fly with another wingsuit flyers)

Thanks for the advice, I think I might try for the Gap...

I'd head to Nagambie, they've got a PAC XL750...its a nice new plane, but its got a low tailplane, so make sure you've cleared the tail before you inflate, see Incidents Forum for more details. Nice Dz, great CI, good wingsuiter there called Darren. (He's on these forums as Jiggs).

I've got a few days in Paris before I head accross to Grenoble, up to Chambery and from there down to Verdun. We've got a car and five days to spare, so I don't mind doing a little driving...

Maybe ask in french on the french forum here (Rémi is our very strict greeny ;-) )

On September 17 and 18 there's a wingsuit weekend at Temora. A little further from Melbourne than Nagambie, but will be well worth the extra driving time. It's in New South Wales. If you have time on Monday 19, there's a plan in the making to do some flocks over the national capital, Canberra. We have an exceptional route planned - ending with opening right over our Parliament House. Come join us.

My french is non-existent once more, so I'm getting lessons from some coworkers, so I'll try in a few weeks.

Thanks for your help!;)

Thanks Fergs and Jasmin,

Flying over parliament in Canberra would be great! Unfortunately, I've a work meeting monday 19/09 in Melbourne.

I'll go to Nagambie, and may be Temora too to join the flock on 17/09 and 18/09, if I've enough time to go to Temora and then going back to Melbourne.

Jasmin, if you go to Gap in Southern France, fly your wingsuit with Loic!

I'm bringing Aussie Jimmy Freeman with me, so I don't dare to think what those two will get up to!!!
;)
Now there's one wingsuit jump I'd looooooove to film!

Gap is a great place to go, from there you can take a fabulous drive to a dropzone called Pujaut near Avignon. Its a couple of hours drive and 2000ft lower, they have 2 Porters there and are a good crowd, drive another couple of hours through Perpignan and over the border to Empuria. Its all good !
