tkhayes 135 #4 June 16, 2003 It has no more risks with the aircraft than with any other form of skydiving. low-tail aircraft have inherent dangers with skydivers if there is an accidental deployment of the parachute in or out or near the door. billvon 2,416 #5 June 16, 2003 I have never done IAD, but we've had deployments over/under the tail on both static line and AFF programs. One such deployment almost tore the tail off our King Air; on the other one (the SL) the pilot kicked the tail of the 182 out of the way and it was a non-issue. So it's not just an IAD issue.
