JSE 1 #1 November 24, 2004 Does anyone know anything about Mexican skydiving regulations? Specifically some friends and I are thinking about flying down to Mexico in a private plane for vacation and will be staying with someone who has a large piece of empty land away from any major cities. We already have permission from the owners of the airstrip, and the land (where we are going to land) to do some jumps there. My only concern is I don’t want any federales shooting at us under canopy.

I asked him, "why did you not continue to fly when you moved to the US"... His response was, "do you think I have a license."
AndyAnderson 0 #3 November 24, 2004 E mail Mike Alverez mailto:[email protected] Or look up the other DZ's on the DZ data base. They dont read the forums too often. Legit avation in M:exico is very tightly controlled. Andy

SkymonkeyONE 4 #5 November 24, 2004 QuoteIf mexico is any like Venezuela the only regulation is no regulation Interesting fact along those same lines: only FIVE percent of drivers in Honduras are licensed. I have spent a LOT of time in central and south america and the caribean basin and I can promise you that driving in the great majority of those places is not for the faint of heart. MrJones 0 #6 November 24, 2004 I have a place in Ensenada and have seen an ultralite take up a jumper on two seperate occasions. It was pretty cool. The funny thing was that the Federal Police did show up at the beach the first time but it seemed that they were just there check it out. This was a couple of years ago before I got into Skydiving but the Ultralight still flys on a weekly basis. I plan on making the jump this summer with friends from the DZ. 20$ us to 3.5K NUR ZUM SPASS

apixel 0 #8 November 25, 2004 This is funny. I am Honduran and when I was of legal age to drive, it was easier to go and "buy" my license than to actually take the driving tests. But don't worry, I had to take a test here when I moved to the states, so the streets are safe. :-p
