And if you understand and accept that level of risk then to hell with anyone that says you shouldn't be jumping.

Butt-slides are tricky landings to begin with, but you've definitely got the jump experience to pull them off.

Thanks for your support!! I realize it's prolly more risky for me to jump with a bum ankle, than someone with 2 good ankles to jump. I discussed this with my orthopedic doctor, he knows i jump and he's fine with it. :)

I am currently in a similar situation. I broke my leg Dec, didnt heal so I got surgery (plate + pins). That was 2 months ago and I am now allowed to walk without any fancy stuff and am doing well at PT. My doc says that I shouldnt be jumping for another 3 months because even though the bone is fixed in regards to the xray it is not as strong as it could be. So I would wait till you can full load bear, then give it an extra. The guy I have is a specialist in this field (foot/ancle) so even though other doc's say otherwise I take his word on it.

As said above I am using this as a good reason to save money to buy gear and go hard jumping when I return.

I'm going to respect the surgeon's orders. If I compounded my current injury, I fear the HMO would not cover my medical expenses. My income is not from jumping.

Honestly I think it would be better waiting to be healed properly even though the wait does suck a lot.
Have had a friend with a broken left arm jump in a cast and also more recently a girl not long out of a cast (foot) doing a tandem landing onto sand (beach). She was a jumper not a whuffo.
