HorrorWriter 0 #1 July 31, 2005 Jumped my first pack job today....the most unnerving jump I've had as of yet...prayed a lot on the way down. The canopy was a fairly new Pilot 188....took forever to get the thing in the bag (habit of putting too much weight on it and seeing the folds dissolve quickly). After many tries I finally got it in the bag and the entire rig closed up just to do it again...then jump it. Nice opening, with a little bit of a snivel....and a sigh of reliefWhoo hoo! EvilLurker 2 #2 July 31, 2005 Glad it opened and you survived. What do you think the chances of that happening twice in a row are?
HorrorWriter 0 #3 July 31, 2005 With as much practice as I got today and the day prior....hopefully, pretty good...I think...maybe
katzurki 0 #4 July 31, 2005 There is a very simple solution to relieve the horror of jumping your first pack job -- make someone else do it! See if they live. See if they limp or anything. Cautiously approach them and poke them with a stick, watch the reaction. Offer them a beer. If all tests confirm this is an unchanged skydiver and not a zombie or a walking undead, repeat the process on another guy. They all crave a free packjob anyway
 HorrorWriter 0 #5 July 31, 2005 LOL! Didn't even think of that...
