PilotMike 0 #1 August 16, 2006 Does anyone know of a website or database that lists local riggers for different areas? I know I can find the closest DZ by searching this website or USPA's and then ask whoever answers the phone, but I'm looking for something more structured? The closest DZ to me now is about 2 hours away and I'd like to be able to dropoff/pickup my rig at the closest rigger's house (or 'day job') without such a drive if I'm not out to jump that day. It would be nice if there was a central (searchable) site that riggers could input their own contact information and location data. JENNR8R 0 #2 August 16, 2006 My DZ's website has a list of riggers. Have you looked on yours? What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.
PilotMike 0 #3 August 16, 2006 I have, and I saw the list you're referring to. It just got me thinking that a centralized database would be nice for everywhere else... -------- Benefitting from the 'free capture of verticality.'
chutingstar 1 #4 August 17, 2006 I don't know who owns the Rigminder web site, but it does have a function to "locate a rigger." I'm just not sure how many riggers have actually listed themselves on the web site. The link is http://www.rigminder.net/index.asp. peregrinerose 0 #6 March 11, 2008 Only drawback is you need to pay to get your name listed on there. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

Your only have to pay if you want to have advertising on the pages. MikeChutingStar.com

poe62 0 #9 March 11, 2008 That's a pretty scarce list for Texas...not that I'm looking. I have a great rigger.~Nikki http://www.facebook.com/poe62 Irgity Dirgity

LisaM 0 #11 March 11, 2008 I do imagine it's missing a lot. It's hard to get the word out about it. Tell your rigger, they might want to use it to keep track of their clients. That was its original purpose. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

Unfortunantly, PIA's website is temporarily down. PIA.com I think it's close to what you're looking for.

brianfry713 0 #14 March 25, 2008 This requires that you search by name, but it will list the ratings an airman has, and possibly their address: https://amsrvs.registry.faa.gov/airmeninquiry/ Or you could download this large file and find all the information you want. Someone could parse this, create a searchable website, and keep it up to date. http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/airmen_certification/releasable_airmen_download/ It would also be nice if someone parsed all the databases and made a way to locate a rigger by seal. I'd do this, but I'm lazy and don't have a visible website. Or someone could ask the FAA to make their website more user friendly. The FAA is there to help.
