Slowest speed

Recommended Posts

What is your slowest speed in freefall without a tracking suit, wingsuit, or camera suit? So how slow can you go?

Personal best was 91mph in a track;)

79, in a track, regular RW suit.

lightweight beanpole here ... sub-100 belly flying, but never downloaded Protrack data to see lowest #, or tried to really just cup hard for a whole jump to see what I could get it to read for an entire jump.
As long as you are happy with yourself ... who cares what the rest of the world thinks?

I'm about 200lbs and 6'5", I do OK, but I can't seem to break into the 70s.

More practice!

[edit: This is in a RW suit with vented booties.]

I have a number of jumps where I hit the mid 80s. 84 was the lowest I saw, but quite a few 85/6/7 as well. I also saw a 68 in my log book, but I suspect that was meant to be 86 and I just wrote it wrong. 68 seems highly unlikely.

These speeds are all in a track at the end of a dive wearing a regular RW suit with booties.

Im not sure if this is correct but my protrack shows me 106.45 kmph (66.15 mph) as my slowest in a track.
Could it be true or is it more likely to be a missread of the protrack?

Unless you were in wingsuit it's most likely an error.

I think some of the dives I was on with "Ponce" back in the WFFC days were falling about 40MPH!!!
This is the paradox of skydiving. We do something very dangerous, expose ourselves to a totally unnecesary risk, and then spend our time trying to make it safer.
