The last time I went to 30,000 we did it in about 3 hours total. That’s pre-breathing on the ground, climb in a King Air and jump.

How long do you think Ed would last at 8,000 meters without the weeks of acclimatizing? The TUC figures work pretty good for what they were calculated for. Trying to compare climbers to skydivers is apples and oranges.

Or when one is acclimatized, however it is done. Such tables assume "average" behavior, and very few people are actually "average".

The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
