Author wants his own book banned

Out of print and banned are two different things.

Further, an author withdrawing his work from the public is part of what is known as his "moral rights."

Cool, I have the book. Got it through Soldier of Fortune back in the early eighties.

Any set of chemistry / math / physics books are weapons int he right hands...

I mean books...

It's not the fucking books.

Yup. The Anarchist's Cookbook is probably one of the better ones, as far as a "complete how to", but the info is pretty easy to find elsewhere if you look.
It's pretty amazing how easy it is to make nitroglycerin.
Even easier to blow yourself up trying to make it.

from what I understand this author doesn't own the rights. He sold it lock stock and barrel.
If some old guy can do it then obviously it can't be very extreme. Otherwise he'd already be dead.

Possibly. Would have been an incredibly stupid move on his part to sell "all" his rights. Few writers would be willing to do that, but since I haven't checked it out I can't say with 100% certainty. Even at that though, depending on which country we're talking about, like say France, he'd still have his "moral rights" and could probably get the book withdrawn from publication.
