That's not globalization. That's the history of mankind spreading across the planet since the dawn of time. Every time man transports himself he carries some sort of "hitchhiker" with him; sometimes unintentionally (small pocks), sometimes horrifically intentionally (rabbits to Australia).

I think globalization brought oranges to Florida from Asia (indirectly) a few hundred years ago in the first place. The bugs are just now catching up with them.
