Were the bullets fired from a hunting rifle or a handgun of the type used by gang bangers? If the former it was probably just an accident.Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. Andy9o8 0 #3 April 10, 2012 Quotea handgun of the type used by gang bangers? FWIW, the kind of handgun typically used by gang-bangers has evolved somewhat in the past 30, 40 years. Meaning: less likely than back in the day to be just some cheap POS. Plus, specific weapon aside, the use of 9mm ammo is becoming increasingly prevalent across-the-board. How easy is it to determine the type of weapon that fired a spent round?
normiss 643 #4 April 10, 2012 One would be quite legally challenged to 'hunt' in the Lake Mary / Sanford area. Not to mention the general lack of animals worth hunting. Besides, it's inside city limits. Discharging a weapon is a bit of a no-no. Also curious if the Shot Seeker system notified the cop in the car.

If it was 40 cal or 45 ACP, probably an accidental firing from a good guy. If it was .306, it probably an accident from a drunk redneck hunter, also a good guy. Add, if it was 5.56/.223, it was probably a militia thinking survivalist who accidently fired his rifle while watching a youtube video on tactical defense, may or may not be a good guy.Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. Easy enough to tell if the bullet was fired from a gang-banger gun or not. Just look at the hole and see if the bullet went in vertically or sideways. normiss 643 #7 April 10, 2012 Assault rifle you say? Criminals have, do, and will use any weapons they have access to, through whatever means that access is.
JohnRich 4 #8 April 10, 2012 QuoteAssault rifle you say? But... but... California has laws against assault weapons and drum magazines! In fact, the anti-gun Brady Bunch gives California their highest score for best gun laws amongst all 50 states. How could this be? If even the best gun laws that can be devised by the minds of gun-o-phobes can't stop criminals, then what hope is there for stopping them?

Wendy, Wendy, don't you know that good ol' boys like to drink liquor and play with their rifles? This incident took place in the deep, deep south.
