And like the irresponsible homeowners who want to not pay their debts - AND still want more money from the banks.

Them too. So why does the right always pick on unions?

bit of background info...

Quote

Kettling has become synonymous with the enforcement of the Conservative government's radical austerity and privatization program. In November and December 2010 a student uprising in Britain larger than that of May 1968 saw over 40,000 students take to the streets of London on four separate occasions to protest against the government. They occupied countless university buildings during this period, and linked up with the anti-cuts movement UK Uncut.

After those winter protests, the movement spread on March 26 to incorporate a 500,000 strong day of demonstration and action, and after a long summer beset by heavy policing and the set-backs of the August riots, the protest movement is gearing up once again. A public sector workers strike that could see as many as 4 million union members walking out has been called for November 30, and with the start of new university and school years, more large student protests have been planned for the autumn too.

The unions have nothing to do with the banking crisis. At least, I don't believe that unions played a part in it.

But when they jump into a scrap they can expect to get their noses punched, too. Unions are as greedy as they get because, by law, they CAN be. Unions are exempt from antitrust laws, which allows them to do acts in furtherance of their business that make Microsoft, Google and Facebook green with envy.

On top of that, they are more highly invested financially than anyone else. Unions bashing greed and the influence of money in American politics is the equivalent of Log Cabin Republicans decrying the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell.

That's why unions get bashed when they jump into these frays. Think a union would appreciate it if a CEO said, "I'm going to return my entire salary and bonus to the company. And it will take a nickel off of the price of every product to thank our customers." The unions would throw a shit fit. They are uninterested in working conditions. They are only interested in increasing their dues-paying members and increasing the dues they can collect.

That's what unions are about - their own survival and success. The unions are what they claim to despise.

OK, so most Tea Party members are irresponsible. Nothing new there.

as are most of the people in the world making statements based off of the quote they read on FB or reddit or DZ.com or their neighbor's ass.

Americans are (for the most part) lazy, ignorant, and apathetic. If they hear an opinion that sounds like fact, then it must be true, and they'll parrot it as such.

We see that HERE every day.

IT appears that the clergy are now participating. As we all know, churches make no money and never try to make money. Churches are great spokespeople for anti-greed, right?

Yep. Chruches telling Wall Street about greed. Just like unions and other socialists...
