ACORN cleared of charges

There WAS a pattern established, they went to multiple ACORN sites, all across the nation and got the same results........

Police report? No help? Confession of a "former escort" killing her husband? I suppose you could call that a pattern. I'll bet Glen Beck still pops a vein when you remind him of that last one:D

Police report?

From the freelancers scooping ACORN, or the (magically missing) ones from ACORN about the people wanting to set up a prostitution ring in the various cities?

Yup...hearts'o'GOLD, those ACORN people.

That's the one that that the Fox people said that they hadn't confirmed, right?

How about the ACORN manager that got on TV saying she threw them out, then the next tape has her in a 20 minute interview with them.

Sure seems like it, yeah.

The one in Philadelphia that called the police after they left.

That's my beef with FOX. They have a tendency to report on things that aren't confirmed...over...and over...and over and over again. Something about "say it often enough and..."

It's a interesting contrast now that I think about it. CBS reports something that's factually accurate yet from a lousy source. They get raked over the coals. FOX reports something that's factually inaccurate. They get good ratings.

That wasn't the same one that called the police on them was it? I really don't know. I didn't pay that much attention to all the coverage. Regardless, ACORN has what....1200 offices in 40 states or so? And a few employees screwed up and got fired?
Hell, our Congress doesn't have a record that good.

ACORN was framed by a couple of nutjobs)

Given the press's pathological obession with using puns as headlines, I'm suprised that one's not been used already.

I think Andy9o8 already used it.

cleared of those charges, but what about these charges

If it's been proven that certain parties are willing to lie and setup ACORN, how much damage can further allegations do at that point?

"I saw Sarah Good with the devil!
I saw Goody Osborn with the Devil!
I saw Bridget Bishop with the Devil!"

At some point, you lose credibility as an accuser.

Rachel Maddow exposes the fraud on video.
Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD

Sort of like ACORN's suit against Giles/O'Keefe that the court dismissed?

Or ACORN's affiliate, Project Vote, that had their suit against Moncrief that was dismissed?

Indeed, not that ACORN had any credibility in that respect to begin with.

Rachel Maddow exposes the fraud on video.

Saw that the other morning on AFN - she talks an awful lot about the jacket, when the very first video released shows him walking into the ACORN office in plainclothes and Giles holding what appears to be some sort of fuzzy jacket.

Also funny how they concentrate on that, rather than the subject of the allegations. ACORN can clear themselves in a heartbeat - all they have to do is give permission for the audio of their side of the tapes to be played. Of course, that would call attention back to the fact that ACORN never blinked an eye over the prostitution issue or the importation of underage El Salvadoran children, so they probably won't do that.
