"If insurance companies are part of the health care system, shouldn't they want to help?" (or something like that) I think the problem is that medical insurance companies are NOT part of the medical system. They are insurance companies, but most of us consider them to be part of the medical system. So the question is -- do we want, or need, them to be part of the medical system?
