Maxx 1 #1 June 13, 2007 Hey everyone, here is a 30 sec clip I produced for Greenpeace (SPEC). It's heavy CGI with some live elements.. I hope you like it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhvPFP0iGQU Feedback welcome! Max
souleh 0 #2 June 13, 2007 Very good! What was that produced in, and how long did it take you? 'buttplugs? where?' - geno
Maxx 1 #3 June 13, 2007 We started out with Maya, but then quickly converted to Softimage XSI due to our internal workflow. We started producing it at the end of November 06 and finished it end of May 07. We did the live action takes in February and then integrated the captures into the scene.. This is a speculative spot, so it's produced without any support from greenpeace (except the yellow jackets ) Thanks for your feedback Max
DougH 270 #4 June 13, 2007 Am I the only one who finds a sky diver making a green peace comercial a little ironic? I know your all a bunch of hippies, but you jump out of emission spewing airplanes that have little benifit to society other then personal gratification. Green peace and others would be happy to put you all in little cube cities and bar you from ever again stepping foot in the "wilderness" if they could. That being said the clip is cool, but why all cg? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

That's the reason why I convert to basejumping very soon All CG because we had a very small budget and couldn't afford to do everything in real.. and it wouldn't be possible to get the shots in those conditions.. I think this is the first thread I got moved to the SC, is that beer. vortexring 0 #7 June 13, 2007 Bit rough to be launching an inflatable - and with full sail too! Yer Captain's a nutter - I assume that's him on the stern puking up a bellyful of rum??? 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'
Amazon 7 #8 June 13, 2007 I am sure the guy on the aft deck is to represent most of the people who would join GP.... but not have the gumption to actually go out and do something on the front lines.
dorbie 0 #9 June 13, 2007 Very impressive, and it's a great commercial. Did you do the live action composite post render inside Softimage or did you import the live action & render it within the scene?
vortexring 0 #10 June 13, 2007 Never!! 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'
Amazon 7 #11 June 13, 2007 I LOVE taking my boat out in conditions like that.... the North Pacific is great for some SWEEEEET sailing.. especially crossing the mouth of the Columbia River where it dumps into the ocean... I keep my little red boat there. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbia_Bar

Maxx 1 #13 June 13, 2007 QuoteDid you do the live action composite post render inside Softimage or did you import the live action & render it within the scene? Our deadline was not moveable anymore, so we did it the "dirty way" and rendered the live action inside the scene.. Had some advantages and some disadvantages, but at least everything got finished.. Maxx 1 #14 June 13, 2007 Quote I LOVE taking my boat out in conditions like that... awww.. If I would have know that earlier I would have contacted you and we could have done it in REAL. Is your boat 130ft long?
Trent 0 #15 June 13, 2007 Pretty outstanding work, even if it is for those dirty hippies! Oh, hello again!
vortexring 0 #16 June 13, 2007 That's pretty cool! Although I do prefer the Western Caribbean and Indian ocean myself. 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!"
