Storing Handguns - Dry

Recommended Posts

If you're talking about where to keep it, as long as you maintain it and lube it regularly, even when not used, doesn't matter much. If you're talking about long term storage, definitely not in those foam cases. The foam absorbs and holds moisture. Bad juju.

That's why I asked, since short term it really wouldn't matter, like if you're shooting every few weeks, but more then that, it would be a bad idea.

I like to shoot more often than I do. On average, lets call it once every month sometimes two. Some guns I shoot less. I have one in a soft case with a silica desacant bag with it, I have a long gun in a carry case with corduroy interior, and an auto in an original box that has egg crate foam. Would the soft case be better than the original box? Can I get desecant at a gun store?
...FUN FOR ALL!
