MikeFB2764 0 #1 September 2, 2014 My apologies if this has been covered before, but what is the type of padded nylon material that is used on the inside of container flaps? Where can this material be purchased? Thanks, Mike
indyz 1 #2 September 2, 2014 "Foam laminated parapack". Supposedly ParaGear used to sell it but I've only been able to get it from container manufacturers. There are different weights / thicknesses used by different manufacturers, so your best bet is to just call around and see what you can find.
riggerrob 558 #3 September 2, 2014 200 to 400 denier, nylon para-pack or oxford cloth with open-cell foam bonded to to the backside. Flame-bonded foam used to be fashionable, but the process made too many toxic fumes (only during production) that it fell out of fashion. Ever since then foam-backed fabric has been difficult to find. A few mills now glue foam onto Oxford cloth, but it is difficult to find.
councilman24 36 #4 September 2, 2014 The material is not a PIA-SPEC, (mil-spec) material so each manufacturer has their own material specifications. If you want to match a specific manufacturer call them. Here is a link to a foam backed nylon oxford. http://www.seattlefabrics.com/neoprene.html#200%20D%20Oxford%20Foam%20LaminateI'm old for my age.
