Helmet type?

Recommended Posts

It is almost time to start purchasing gear and I was curious about helmets. I've been looking at all the different types and can't decide. What are the benefits of a full face helmet compared to an open one? Also would it be weird for a new skydiver to jump with a camera helmet without a camera attached? (Will eventually start filming jumps.)

Have you looked into the Cookie Fuel? It's gotten 10/10 reviews.

Stick to a basic helmet until you get at least a hundred jumps under your belt.

I started with a Protec and it worked great.

By the time you're ready to jump a camera, there will be way better helmets available.

Patience is the best lesson to learn in this dangerous and expensive sport.

Actually, I have to agree with your thoughts on the Cookie Fuel.

I was concidering buying a G3, but I couldn't bring myself to pay $400 for a plastic helmet. No matter how cool it looks.

All Cookie helmets seem to be way overpriced.

***Here is the list of things in Australia that aren't overpriced by most American standards:

With good reason. Everything in Australia is overpriced.

I've heard what a liter of petrol costs there.

That about sums it up. Drives me crazy.
