There's another place nearby called Emerald Coast (I think) that's supposed to be cool, but I don't have any personal experience there. wingnut 0 #5 November 21, 2002 iwas in ft. walton beach.until jun..about 40 miles east on 98......emerald coast skydivers is like 30 minutes from you and gold coast is more like 1.5-2 hours...... emerald coast is a great place.... not sure what plane they have now since they lost thier otter over easter (i was on the last load outa it) they jumpinto the floribama bar right on the beach and the dz is wide open for landing. n2skdvn jumps at gold coast andi'm sure he'll chime in here sometime to tell ya more about it. i only juped there durring the mardi gras boogie they have in feb.....awsome time if ya can getaway for the weekend and go.......... those are the only two dz's really very close to pensicola..... p.s. what rate are ya getting??? and ya gota stop by the irish pub there in pensiola...it's on the easternside of town...you'll know it's the right one i'm talking about from the hunereds of thousands of dollar bills hanging on the walls and ceiling!!! ______________________________________ "i have no reader's digest version" Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Gunships get pretty boring after a while. I actually had a lot more fun doing dry fire convoy escort with them. They would simulate shots with the ISLID and we would give corrections. Zenister 0 #18 November 21, 2002 we were cueing using MTI radar, passing the tgts over the air, lots of our time was spend working out message parsing issues etc..the geek stuff. what was almost frightening is the way their tgt point created an MTI signature (very similar to the vehicles they were targeting) i could very nearly have them adjust fire based on radar returns alone. Helps keep center of gravity up to the front. remember..its not an otter...you need to be carefull when doing big ways...tell the pilot so he knows that there will be alot of meat on the tail on jumprun!
