Divalent 89 #1 July 26, 2012 Anyone using this helmet cutaway system? (a retro fit for open faced helmets) http://www.gravitygear.com/store/product166.html If so, I'd be interested in any opinions.

Divalent 89 #3 July 26, 2012 QuoteWhy would you need the chin cup and the strap? That perplexed me, too. Only thing I can think of is that as a retro fit, maybe on some helmets the chin cup might not be as secure, so the strap is an extra level of assurance it won't fly off in freefall. I wonder if the strap is easily removed?
rehmwa 2 #4 July 26, 2012 QuoteWhy would you need the chin cup and the strap? it's advertised as a mod for camera helmets, except for the Go-Pro generation, then the chin cup will make sense. Even for those that don't think they need it, they'll still understand. ... DBCOOPER 1 #5 July 26, 2012 I have it. Chin cup padding lacks enough padding to keep the edge of the cup from digging in when tightened enough to eliminate shaking. The screw that holds the part that the cut away cable goes thru tends to loosen from the chin cup strap rotating from use. Had it come apart when I took it off after takeoff. Put it back together hand tight till I could tighten it properly. Over all it does what its designed to do. I would rather have it than nothing thats for sure. use it on the ParaSport equivelent to the protec with a contour and gopro mounted on it.Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.
