Wendy P.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. safetyjim 5 #28 May 25, 2011 Great list -- thanks for doing this. Almost 6800 entries, but no Dave Dewolf. The list must be only seal symbols issued *after* 1925(!)
masterrig 1 #29 August 23, 2011 Quote It's funny that they issued the seal symbol "MAL" ! When I went for my Senior ticket, my instructor told me that during the '60's and '70's, requests for seal symbols such as LSD, POT, PCP, TCP and other similar were turned-down by the FAA. Plover 0 #31 May 24, 2013 Once again the moderators here have chosen to delete a bunch of perfectly innocent messages. So now it's time for some payback once again. Tsk tsk. It's too bad they continue this program of self-induced punishment. It would be so easy if they just left those innocent messages alone, and public. But, when they fucka wit me, I fucka wit them. So here we go again.

theonlyski 3 #33 July 10, 2014 indyzQuoteI've asked for this before from the FAA. What I was told before I was a DPRE was that it wasn't available even to field inspectors. I'll ask again now that I have more of a relationship with them and see what the answer is. Seal symbols are on the airman certification look up but you can't search seal symbol. Got the attached file from the FAA. A couple of things: - It appears to be somewhat incomplete. I was able to locate one person who appears in the FAA's online database but not in this file. - The file originally included addresses, which I removed because I am uncomfortable releasing that information wholesale. If you need an address, you can use the name to look it up in the online database. Just curious, how did you go about obtaining this and how hard would it be to do it again?"I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
dpreguy 14 #34 July 11, 2014 I seem to recall this same question a couple of years ago on DZ.com. About 5 years ago my supervising FAA Aviation Inspector at my FSDO (Flight Standards District Office) said they do not have access to it either. They have to request that info from Oklahoma City (FAA Headquarters). An incident, and the sheriff saw the seal symbol and wanted to know, so the sheriff called the FSDO. The FSDO FAA employee actually called me and asked me if I recognized the seal and if I knew the rigger. I didn't. I didn't know of the incident, nor was I involved in any way. I don't know what he did next. Whether he requested from Oklahoma City or not. And, if he did, whether he gave the info to the sheriff. Last I heard of it. For FAA reasons or some other agency's reason, this info isn't avail on a simple search. Doubt the FOIA request will bear fruit. They keep that info confidential, unless things have changed.
