NZL60 0 #3 February 3, 2004 sooo... the data to go in cells G4-G18 needs to be picked up from A26 to Axx ? The second part is easy but I'm probably going to want to break this out into seperate sheets within the same workbook. ok? Who said Kiwis can't fly? rehmwa 2 #6 February 3, 2004 Easy enough to do both tasks with just "if" statements. Excel has a pretty good help section. Try that first. ... Brian425 0 #17 February 4, 2004 So post the answer. The deans list is easy. Simple if statement. The hlookup will not work without using a series of if statments to get one of the 4 values you are using to look up the student's year. Easy answer is make row 24 from 0 through 128. Then use if statements to tell if the student is Freshamn, Soph, etc. The Hllookup in column G would be =HLOOKUP(E4,$B$24:$CM$25,2,FALSE) the dean list would be an if statement =IF(+D4/E4>3.199999,"Deans List","") There are much easier ways to do this using Access. But, I know this is school. Here is a quick easy way using a series of if statements to look up the students year. =IF($E4<30,$B$25,IF(E4<60,$C$25,IF(E4<90,$D$25,$E$25))) God, I feel like a geek. I'll put the beer on account. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.
kansasskydiver 0 #18 February 4, 2004 sorry can't help ya, guess i don't meet the deans list requirements hahahaha No but seriously i tried and it didn't work either... maybe they should drop the deans list to a 3.0 and then i can figure it out.<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!
