Nightingale 0 #26 February 24, 2004 lol... since I HATE leftovers, fast food is cheaper. Otherwise, I'll spend ten bucks on ingredients for one meal, eat a great dinner (I can cook, I just choose not to), and then the rest sits in the fridge til it turns green. much more economical to go over to taco bell and spend $2.00 in the drive thru. RevJim 0 #38 February 24, 2004 Lot's of people here know the goodness in being the old Steak and Pototoes man. Gotta love it. Wish I could do NY Strip though. I'm cooking for myself, my wife, and 4 kids. NY Strip is NOT an option, hence the venison (cheap, lol, actually, FREE)It's your life, live it! FunBobby 0 #39 February 25, 2004 Well, venison ain't bad either. It's actually very, very tasty, and there's no threat of catching mad cow disease from it!!!! Regarding co$t - the mad cow scare has driven down the price of beef significantly. Also, I shop on base at the commissary, where food costs much, much less than out in town. I typically pay 30% less for steak, and it's a huuuge bargain now. Cheers - FunBobby
RevJim 0 #40 February 25, 2004 I figured it would get driven down, and it has, everywhere I know of except for actually IN the stores here. I have a huge upright freezer, and friends that love to hunt (as do I). They have either small or no families though, so guess who gets the meat? When i get back over the road I'll get back to buying beef by the side and hogs whole. The ONLY way to buy meat! It's your life, live it!
