lawrocket 3 #1 April 27, 2004 I was in court for a trial today. Plaintiffs in an unlawful detainer action. A truly interesting issue of law that could have gone either way. Opposing counsel was a good guy, and we both convinced our clients to settle it. I made an interesting screw up. Background - I haven't been to court in a couple fo weeks, and i've been dictating a lot of documents. wiht that in mind... So we're going through the settlement terms in court, and I was stating some. At one point I stated, "Defendant shall also be responsible for attorneys' fees 'comma' costs, and damages in the event of a breach." Yeah, I actually said, "Comma" as if I was dictating it. That got a bit of a giggle. The other attorneys found it fairly amusing. One actually told me he'd done it before, too. So comma, anyone else have any funny comma interesting comma or other screw ups like that. I need others to let me know I ain't that dumb. My wife is hotter than your wife. The loan officer sent the wrong address and I was in a hurry and did not verify the address when I called to schedule. The funny part was, the home owner let me in. I graduated from court reporting school.......try thinking in your head (mental picture here) typing on your stenograph machine to every word someone says in your normal day to day activity. Also, sometimes I write down a simple word like cat but in my court reporting theory it's kat.
