It is the point of no return. Any further and you are commited to completing the jump. Unless you jump into another form of conveyance and land with it, but thats not part of this discussion. Also talked to some peeps, some of which are showing up at the DZ on Friday to be ready and others are driving in from long distances and staying in town to make the trip earlier.
