Recommended Posts

It looks really nice, keep up the good work!

Gee thanks! :)
Every time Mike turns around, I'm adding something new to the yard. He keeps asking me where in the world I'm going to put them...but I always find a nice place.

I also have 4 hibiscus bushes that are doing wonderfully! The petunias and the lavender aren't fairing so well, though. [:/] As the lavender die...I'm replacing them with lantana. I'm still trying to beg the petunias to come back to me. :(

It's my first year in Texas. I know a lot about growing things in Georgia...but Texas seems to want to teach me a few new lessons. B|

I love lantana! But the season here is much too short for them, and they never really mature like they do down south, so they are always these funny little things here, not bushy like they are there.
My yard looks like a jungle. I like lots of plants, have a small lot, and VERY nosey neighbors. This way I get what I want PRIVICEY

Hey, this WOULD be a good weekend to post. hmm
We had a terrific time, and spent most of the weekend at Skydive Superior. They were lucky this year, summer fell on the July fourth weekend, so they were busy and the weather was great all weekend. Lots of jumping going on, and many new faces for me to meet.
One of the jumpers had us all over to his house for a cook out and fireworks.
The grand finale of the fireworks included gasoline.
It was quite the time!

Treatment: Remove and dispose of affected foliage and plant parts, including fallen leaves, off site. For serious outbreaks, apply mancozeb, benomy, copper hydroxide, lime sulfur, or chloronthalonil according to label instructions.

Do you just pull off the bad leaves? Or cut/prune them? And to you just leave a bare stalk there if that is the case?

I applied rose fertilizer more than a week ago. I spray for bugs on a regular basis. I can't understand why everything in THAT spot is dying when the bushes on either side of it are doing fine. They all have the same soil, water, etc.

Possible a chunk of mortar buried in the ground there leeching lime into the soil and making it too alkaline?

Having about 75 rose bushes I may have an idea,
It looks like the root ball is getting too hot, I reccommend mulching around the base with some good quality coca mulch.

Keep it moist (test the moisture of the mulch by sticking your finger in it)) do not drip water it or allow any water to get on the plant itself. It may also be getting burned because water is getting on it from an automatic sprinkler.
