What you should never say to a Police Officer.

Why would you let them search your car?

After arguing with the asshole for a while i let him do a search so i could get the fuck out of there. I know I should have stayed and made them bring out the drug dogs, but I really wanted to get away from the piece of human filth who somehow got a badge and a gun.

1. I can't reach my license unless you hold my beer. (OK in Texas)

Yeah, go ahead and come to Texas and try that one and see what happens. :D

In Texas during the early 80's it was legal to have an open container in your vehicle, at least thats what my brother-in-law told me way back then.

To prove it he grabbed a couple of beers when we were driving back from his work. He pulled up to a cop car on the side of the road and asked for directions somewhere. Drinking his beer and talking to the cops. I was waiting for the cuffs to come out but they just gave him directions and didn't do a thing about the beers.

He explained it to me that as long as you weren't drunk it was legal for a good'ol Texas boy to have a cold one after a hot day at work.

Of course, in this politically correct day and age the law has been changed.

Can anyone from Texas confirm what I am talking about. This really happened with the cops and the beer, and I've believed it was legal ever since.

Friend of mine (6-foot Blonde bombshell of a woman) was stopped doing 110 in Richmond, VA.

Officer: Know how fast you were going?

Friend: I don't, officer, but I'm guessing too fast?

Officer: You were going 110 miles per hour when I stopped you. (2am, btw, red sports car, NY plates.)

Friend: Was I?

Officer: Ma'am, no one blows through Richmond that fast.

Friend (without missing a beat): Well, Grant did.

Friend spent the night in jail.

But worth it, she says. :)

"Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

Yes, it's true that open containers used to be legal in Texas. And even up to 2001 it was legal for there to be an open container in the passenger seat area, but since 2001 it's been illegal to have an open container anywhere in the vehicle.

Thanks for the confirmation. It was really weird to sit in a car drinking beer and talking to the cops. The only thing better was doing over 100 mph on the Autobahn in Germany and passing a police car!
