How to address a state representative?

Recommended Posts

When I sat next to Jay Inslee on a plane once, the flight attendants referred to him as Mr. Inslee not Congressman Inslee or Representative Inslee. I suppose any of those would be appropriate as well, but they seem unnecessarily awkward.

Not that we should necessarily take our etiquette tips from flight attendants, but it's the only close encounter of the Congressional kind I've had. :D

you can't go wrong with Mr. Hell, it's respectful enough to call the president Mr. President... we don't even have to use his name. Mr. Whomever should be just fine.
Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie.
