scotts 0 #1 February 18, 2006 I'm sure this will vary. But..... how long does it take a MFR to build a container once it is "cut"? This would be based a standard H/C with all parts/materials already in house.

diablopilot 2 #3 February 18, 2006 Depends if you're assuming that it's produced in the normal assembly line fashion where it moves throough "stations" each one completing different steps of the manufacturing process, or are you asking how long would it take if they just focused on that one container?---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. scotts 0 #4 February 18, 2006 Normal process. I should've been more clear.
diablopilot 2 #5 February 18, 2006 Based on my having had worked for a manufacturer, and several years in the gear industry I'd say it's between 3 and 5 work days.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. riggerrob 558 #6 February 19, 2006 Maybe 5 days, but there a dozen other variables. Are they sewing that colour of thread today? Are they sewing that colour of binding tape today? Are they sewing that colour of binding tape today? Are they sewing that colour of 5-cord today? Do they have that size of pilot chute pre-sewn? Do they have that size of D-bag pre-sewn? Do they have that colour of cutaway handle pre-sewn? Do they have any large batches (team, school, military, etc.) coming through? Are all the staff on duty (i.e. no sick leave, no sick children, no-one on vacation, etc.)?
scotts 0 #7 February 19, 2006 Thanks everyone. I'll keep you updated on my Talon FS. It hasn't been 'cut' as of yet. Possibly a week or so before it does.

JustChuteMeNow 0 #10 February 20, 2006 Well Scott I work for Strong Enterprises and it sounds like it is probably too late to talk you into getting a Quasar lol but I'm sure you will enjoy your Talon. It normally takes us 3 to 5 days because our process sends the harness and container to different stations depending on the operation(binding, single needle, double needle, 5 cord, FF, E thread etc)Think of how stupid the average person is and realize that statistically half of them are stupider than that.
