All you Lotus/Sam Jumpers how much did you end up paying?

Recommended Posts

I'm considering a Lotus as the replacement for my ragged out Sabre I 210.

The retail price on Bigair's site is $2000!:o:oB|B|

So how much did you end up paying?

Brian gives 25% off if you attend one of his canopy seminars, so with that the price comes down to 1,500.

Normally, I'd strongly recomend taking the seminar even without the financial incentive.

I'd even strongly recomend Brians seminars to people who have already taken seminars by other canopy pilots.

I paid $1,500 for my new Samurai.

$3K for a used Voodoo 2, Lotus 150, CYPRES 1, PD Reserve. All less than two years old, except the 9-year old reserve. This was purchased 2 years ago, and I was specifically looking for this canopy (not necessarily the container, et al).

Hook up with a Big Air dealer, and they may be able to get you a better deal.

I originally did that too - you don't see many used Lotus canopies out there. Either they didn't make that many, or the jumpers hold onto them for a while.

Good Choice young Viking.....I think you would LOVE getting a LOTUS ( the Samurai is a tad hi perf for now) You will absolutely love the feeling of one the first imte you get into some turbulence in HOT air/ dusty devils/thermals
I put about 100 jumps on the Lotus 190 demo that Brian sent me while my Sam was being made.

I paid about $1500 for my Samurai.. just look for Brians canopy seminar schedule take the class and get the discount..

not to offend, but if your profile is correct less than 100 jumps in 4 years.. Brian would NEVER sell you a SAM, his recomendation is for a MINIMUM 300 jumps to get one. That being said I LOVE my Lotus, paid about 1600, and am planning on keeping it till I have enough jumps/skills for a SAM

Good Judgment comes from experience...a lot of experience comes from bad
judgment.

The only reason i put "Lotus/Sam" in the title is b/c they are both priced the same and I wanted as many answers as possible.

I have no intention of trying to fly anything close to the Sam's performance lvl for a very long time. I was tought by many of the mods on these forums (in person alot of the time) over those 4 years to be careful and take it slow.

oh and Amazon I have asked Brian to send me the Lotus 190 demo next, its the Airforce Acedemy right now. I'll let you know how i like it. :)
