HydroGuy 0 #1 September 23, 2005 For those who are familiar: I'm interested in having a rigger install slider keepers on my front risers as per Brian Germain when my rig arrives. On the BigAirSportz website, Brian has a graphic showing the keepers being made of 1000# Braided Dacron (Double thickness). But on a thread I found during a search, Brian posts of using 500#-700# Dacron, finger trapping it inside itself, then zig zagging or bartacking it to increase stiffness prior to installation on the risers. Is there a difference between the two methods(like is one an update of another) or just two ways to acheive the same ends? Does this cause any hassles with stowing your risers?Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

Samurai136 0 #3 September 23, 2005 Just two ways of getting the same result. I had Brian put them on my risers. Finished product is 2" tip to tip on mini-risers. Fingertrap a length of dacron and zigzag stitch down its length then hot knife to 2" length and attach, centered, on front riser 2" from bottom. Hassles stowing risers? Nope. On my Javelins you can see the slider locks peaking out at the edge of the riser covers. No big deal. Never been any problem. Dionysus 0 #4 September 23, 2005 Another option, as good as Brians is, is a "shark fin" keeper. Mirage offers them as an option. I had them put on my risers and they work well and are very clean in appearance. They could probably add them to any risers, but I don't know that for a fact.
